Job summary

Brightspeed is seeking a Fiber Service Technician-Mobile to install fiber internet for residential customers. The role requires frequent travel across in-state and out-of-state markets, working shifts with overtime, weekends, and holidays.

You will climb poles, bury cables, perform maintenance on outside plant facilities, and support sales activities as needed. A valid driver’s license and a professional demeanor are essential, with strong safety adherence throughout.

Qualifications

• Travel across in-state and out-of-state locations is required.
• High School diploma or equivalent education.
• Color vision to distinguish facilities.
• Ability to handle ladders and equipment safely.
• Completion of service tech boot camp training.
• Basic computer skills including MS Office.
• Work in confined spaces and at height.
• Outdoor work in varied weather and hours.
• A valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Professional appearance when representing the company.

Responsibilities

• Installing fiber-based high-speed internet for consumer customers.
• Travel regularly to markets to support order completion.
• Performing maintenance and repair on outside plant facilities.
• Climbing poles, digging and burying cables as needed.
• Managing weekly travel per diem and expenses.
• Observing safety rules and regulations at all times.
• Assisting other technical personnel when requested.
• Supporting sales and marketing activities and referrals.
