Job summary

CBRE Group, Inc. is seeking a Union Mobile Route Engineer in New Jersey to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical, plumbing, fire and life-safety systems across multiple facilities.

You will review work orders, estimate materials, maintain tools and inventory, ensure code compliance, operate company vehicles, and explain technical information clearly to colleagues while delivering safe, reliable building operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 3–4 years of related experience; diploma alternative considered.
• Valid Driver’s License and Universal CFC certification required.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs+ and meet physical requirements.
• Proficient with PCs and work order systems; good communication.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance and repairs of mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire, life safety, and control systems for multiple facilities.
• Review work orders, estimate time/materials; maintain supplies and tools.
• Implement preventive maintenance program to meet or exceed equipment rated life.
• Review inspections of fire alarms, HVAC, plumbing to ensure operation within design specs.
• Ensure compliance with codes, regulations, agency directives, and safety rules.
• Operate company vehicle in execution of daily work responsibilities.
• Apply general knowledge of standard principles to accomplish tasks and solve routine problems.
• Have broad knowledge of own discipline and some knowledge of others within the function.
• Lead by example and model CBRE RISE values; persuade to reach agreements.
• Impact the quality of own work and the team's work; work within standardized procedures.
• Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations.
