Job summary

Stellantis in Auburn Hills is seeking a skilled Mobile Engine Test Stand Mechanic for 1st shift to support Dyno Operations involving various propulsion systems. You will install engines, powertrains, and electric motors on dyno carts and assist with instrumentation setup and exhaust systems.

Required are a high school diploma and 1 year of welding/machining experience, plus ability to read basic prints and familiarity with engine instrumentation. Safety and team collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• 1 year minimum experience with welding and metal fabrication.
• Experience with MIG/TIG welding is required (minimum 1 year).
• Ability to read basic prints (minimum 1 year).
• Familiarity with engine and exhaust system instrumentation (minimum 1 year).
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mobile Engine Test Stand 1st shift Mechanic to support Dyno Operations with test properties. This role involves hands‑on work with a variety of Propulsion Systems including internal combustion engines, full powertrains, and electric drive motors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install internal combustion engines, full powertrains, and electric drive motors onto dyno test carts.
• Remove and reassemble external engine components as needed.
• Assist with catalyst aging procedures and dyno cell exhaust system development.
• Perform basic welding and fabrication.
• Support setup and maintenance of engine instrumentation and exhaust components.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma
• Minimum of 1 year experience with welding and metal fabrication
• Experience with welding MIG / TIG, and metal fabrication - Minimum 1 year of experience
• Ability to read basic prints - Minimum 1 year of experience
• Familiarity with engine and exhaust system instrumentation - Minimum 1 year of experience
• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with welding MIG / TIG, and metal fabrication - 3 years of experience.
• Ability to read basic prints - 3 years of experience
• Familiarity with engine and exhaust system instrumentation - 3 years of experience
• State or SAE certifications a plus.
