Job summary

Acadian Ambulance Service in Baton Rouge, LA seeks a dedicated Emergency Medical Responder to provide timely pre-hospital basic life support and patient transport in accordance with established protocols. The successful candidate will work with a partner EMT, operate ambulances safely, maintain equipment, complete required reports, and participate in mandatory meetings.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• State certification as an Emergency Medical Responder.
• Current CPR certification (American Heart Association).
• Valid Louisiana driver’s license (Louisiana Class D).
• Ability to read, write and communicate professionally with staff and management.
• Knowledge of company protocols, procedures and safety policies.
• Ability to drive large vehicles in various conditions.

Responsibilities

• Examine patients for signs of illness or injury and assist other medical personnel as needed.
• Administer basic life support within licensure and protocols prior to transport.
• Provide safe handling of patients in and out of the ambulance.
• Transport patients to medical facilities safely and efficiently.
• Document repairs and maintenance with supervisors and other personnel as required.
• Operate the ambulance safely following driving guidelines and FCC rules.
