Job summary

Acadian Ambulance Service in Columbia, Louisiana seeks a part-time Paramedic to provide pre-hospital advanced life support and rapid transport to patients in need. You will perform examinations, administer life support within licensure, document care, maintain equipment, and train new staff.

The role requires state/national paramedic certification, CPR, ACLS, and a valid driver’s license. You will work with a team to ensure patient safety and quality care in the field.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• National or state paramedic certification required.
• Current CPR and ACLS certifications.
• Valid state driver’s license as required.

Responsibilities

• Examine patient for signs of illness or injury and assist medical personnel.
• Provide basic, intermediate and advanced life support during transport.
• Handle patient safely in and out of the ambulance.
• Transport patient to medical facility and transfer care information.
• Document patient condition and treatment on EMS run reports.
• Maintain and test equipment; report repairs as needed.
• Operate ambulance safely per driving guidelines and company policies.
• Train new employees and precept EMT-B/Intermediate/Paramedic students.
