Job summary

Cox Fleet is a leading provider of on-site mobile maintenance and repair services for fleets nationwide. The Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician performs DOT inspections, PMs, and light to mid repairs, using iOS tools to document work and manage parts.

This role requires proficiency with electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, plus the ability to work in a field/mobile setting and coordinate with customers for service needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years' experience in a related field.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
• Obtain ASE certification within eighteen (18) months.
• Must pass DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.
• Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate regulations.
• Valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain/maintain Driver Qualification File.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment including electrical, brakes, and cooling systems.
• Inspect and repair trailer equipment such as brakes, air lines, liftgates, and more.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, engine, transmission, hydraulic, and other systems.
• Road test vehicles to ensure proper operation after repairs.
• Manage parts inventory and service truck supplies; document RO findings and parts used.
• Complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely fashion.
• Work independently and prioritize daily tasks.
