Job Description: Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician

COX Automotive Mobility Fleet Services (CAMFS) is hiring a Mobile Diesel & Trailer Technician responsible for performing licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light repairs, and diagnostics. The technician will work in a mobile/field environment, performing repairs on trucks and trailers, and will have opportunities to learn advanced skills under supervision.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on various vehicles.
2. Conduct minor repairs and adjustments on truck and trailer equipment, including electrical, brake, cooling systems, engines, transmissions, and more.
3. Diagnose malfunctions using test instruments and road test vehicles to ensure proper operation.
4. Manage parts inventory and maintain company-issued service vehicle, including safety checks and inspections.
5. Document work performed and communicate with management regarding repairs and parts.
6. Ensure compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, and federal regulations.

Requirements:

1. High School Diploma/GED with 3 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Possess necessary hand tools.
3. Obtain ASE T8 certification within 18 months.
4. Pass DOT physical and background checks; valid driver’s license required.
5. Minimum age of 21 years due to interstate commerce regulations.

Preferred Certifications:

• ASE T3, T4, T5, T6, T7, T8, 608/609 certifications.

Skills & Abilities:

• Strong problem-solving, communication, and physical ability to perform labor-intensive tasks.
• Ability to use hand tools, diagnostic instruments, and maintain safety standards.
