Job summary

Rush Truck Centers, part of Rush Enterprises, Inc., is hiring experienced Mobile Diesel Technicians to service fleets at client locations with on-site support. You’ll diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy trucks, manage inventory on the service truck, and collaborate with the Service Manager on daily tasks.

The role requires 5 years of Class 7 & 8 experience, a valid CDL preferred, and ASE certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by the FMVS.
• ASE certifications are preferred and rewarded.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and inspections.
• Manage inventory on the service truck and keep vehicle stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and be assigned daily duties.
• Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and open work schedule.
• Maintain and inventory tools for diesel engine trucks and equipment.
• Read job orders and diagnose vehicle malfunctions to plan procedures.
• Use diagnostic equipment to locate issues and determine repairs.
• Perform component replacements (injectors, pistons, bearings, etc.).
• Conduct diagnostic and documentation work in the company system.
• Inspect safety guards and devices and adjust as needed.
• Lubricate parts and verify repairs meet specs.
• Perform preventative maintenance and document work promptly.
• Communicate with customers regarding repairs and future needs.
• Suggest next 3 months repairs or services when appropriate.
