Job summary

Rush Truck Centers in Texas seeks an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to support on-site client fleets and service calls. You will perform diagnostics, maintenance, and component replacements at customer locations, ensuring timely and quality repairs.

Qualified candidates bring 5+ years in Class 7/8 truck service, a valid CDL preferred, and relevant certifications. The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and proactive customer communication, with comprehensive benefits and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or truck service facility.
• Current CDL preferred but not required.
• Medical card as required by FMCSA.
• Peterbilt, International, Ford, Hino, Isuzu, Cummins & ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Perform basic maintenance on trucks including fueling, oil checks, cleanliness, and required inspections.
• Manage inventory on the service truck and keep vehicle stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and receive daily duties.
• Be available for after-hours service calls and flexible schedule.
• Maintain and inventory the tools required for diesel engine work.
• Diagnose, remove and replace components as needed.
• Use diagnostic equipment to determine malfunction and perform repairs.
• Document work in the company computer system.
• Ensure safety devices and guards are in place and functioning.
• Perform preventative maintenance as requested.
• Communicate with customers about recommended future work.
