Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II for on-site work at customer locations. You will perform certified DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and advanced repairs on trailers and equipment, acting as a lead on jobsites and communicating findings with customers.

The role requires ASE/T8 and ASE/608 certifications within 18 months, a DOT medical card or equivalent, and a CDL-A license. A strong diagnostics background and adherence to safety policies are essential.

Qualifications

• HS diploma/GED with 5 years related field experience.
• Must obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• Must obtain ASE 608/609 within 18 months.
• CDL-A license is required (or obtained).
• DOT/FMCSA pre-employment background screening and DOT physical required.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and Preventative Maintenance on trailers and equipment.
• Execute on-site repairs including aluminum and chem-lite, brakes, air lines, pumps, liftgates, and welding.
• Maintain and operate company service truck; conduct safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections.
• Document repairs and parts used in Repair Orders using company TRAIT app.
• Communicate with customers and management to discuss RO findings and approvals.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and DOT safety regulations.
