Job summary

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to service a fleet of light to heavy-duty vehicles in the field. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel systems, electricals, brakes, and cooling components, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 3+ years in a related field, and experience with refrigerated equipment. DOT regulatory readiness and OEM certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related field experience or a combination as allowed.
• 3+ years of experience with refrigerated equipment is preferred.
• OEM training and certifications are preferred.
• This role requires DOT-regulated pre-employment processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light to heavy-duty vehicles in field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems on trucks.
• Inspect and test equipment; road-test to verify proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory on company service truck and document RO details.
• Communicate with clients, authorize repairs, and coordinate with support teams.
• Adhere to safety, health, and environmental policies and DOT/OSHA regulations.
