Job summary

Velocity Truck Rental and Leasing in Fontana, CA is seeking a Diesel Technician to join our team. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on light to heavy-duty tractors and equipment, operating a service truck in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Post-secondary vocational education strongly preferred.
• Experience in mechanical inspections and repairs.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to obtain a Class B license.
• Fleet and mobile maintenance experience a plus.
• Ability to understand and follow company policies.
• Basic set of hand tools up to 1 ½” and ½ drive pneumatics.
• Strong verbal communication and documentation skills.
• Capable of maintaining accurate inventory control.
• Ability to maintain a strong safety environment at all times.
• Ability to work alone with little or no direction.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty tractors and equipment.
• Operate a service truck and perform on-site inspections.
• Diagnose and address vehicle breakdowns and verify repairs with test drives.
• Replace and adjust worn components and ensure proper function.
• Perform tire services, rotates and mounting as needed.
• Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements and maintain records.
• Manage costs by using warranties and evaluating service options.
