Job summary

Rush Truck Leasing in Tyler, TX is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to maintain our fleet and service at client locations. You will perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs, document work, and ensure safety and quality in every job.

The role requires a valid CDL, 5 years of Class 7 & 8 technician experience, a clean driving record, and the ability to read manuals and use diagnostic tools. We offer comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Current CDL and Medical card as required by FMVSS.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability a must.
• Valid driver license with insurability per company policy.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling, oil checks, cleaning and inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and keep it stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and follow daily duties.
• Be available for after-hours service calls and open work schedule.
• Maintain tools and perform diagnostic/repair procedures per manuals.
• Read job orders and determine malfunction and plan procedures.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to determine and perform repairs.
• Replace injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, bearings, and other parts as needed.
• Document work performed in the company system and generate reports.
• Inspect guards and safety devices and adjust as required.
• Lubricate moving parts and verify conformance to specs.
• Perform preventative maintenance and respond to customer inquiries.
• Advise customer on repairs to be performed within 3 months.
• Participate in training and apply learned skills.
