Job summary

Fyda Freightliner Columbus is seeking a skilled Diesel Technician to diagnose faults, run tests, and perform repairs on Freightliner, Detroit Diesel, and Cummins equipment. You will replace engines, steering components, transmissions, and brakes, and drive to verify performance.

Responsibilities include maintaining service records, performing preventative maintenance, keeping a clean shop, and complying with inspection checklists.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Heavy Duty Diesel Technician experience preferred.
• Clean valid driver's license required.

Fyda Freightliner Columbus is an Elite Support Certified dealer of new Freightliner trucks and Crane Carrier vocational severe-service vehicles, and carries a large inventory of all-makes of pre-owned trucks. Fyda Freightliner Columbus is the largest retailer of new and used Expediters in the United States. Serving the Columbus transportation industry hub since 1985, we operate as a full-service commercial truck dealership and body shop.The primary duties of a Diesel Technician include performing diagnostic tests to find faults, analyzing diagnostic results, and making necessary repairs.Running diagnostic tests on vehicles.Analyzing diagnostic test results.Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions, and braking systems, ETCChecking vehicle lighting systems.Test driving vehicles to gauge performance.Performing preventative maintenance.Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles.Adhering to an inspection procedure checklist.Maintaining a parts inventory.Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop.Perform other related duties as assignedPerform other related duties as assignedEducation and/or Work Experience Requirements:A high school diploma or equivalent requiredHeavy Duty Diesel Technician experienceClean Valid Drivers LicensePhysical Requirements:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job.
