Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and advanced repairs for a mobile fleet. You will diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems, road test vehicles, and interface with customers while maintaining safety and regulatory compliance.

The role emphasizes independent scheduling, on-site service, and detailed documentation using company tools; ASE certifications are preferred and ongoing training is offered.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED; 3+ years related experience.
• 3+ years refrigerated equipment experience.
• Own set of hand tools.
• DOT/FMCSA training or equivalent; DOT background check.
• Must be 21+ and have a valid driver’s license.
• DOT medical card or ability to obtain one within required time frame.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections for light–heavy vehicles in field.
• Diagnose and repair electrical/hydraulic/mechanical systems.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs.
• Maintain service truck and manage parts inventory.
• Document work orders with photos and RO notes.
• Coordinate with customers and obtain repair approvals.
