Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II for DOT compliance, preventative maintenance, and on-site repairs. This role performs electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical diagnostics in a field/mobile setting and travels to customer locations.

The position emphasizes safety, quality, and adherence to DOT and FMCSA regulations, with a focus on timely service and effective communication with dispatch and customers.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations knowledge and DOT pre-employment requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environments.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling and engine systems with hand tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Manage parts on the service truck and document work on Repair Orders using company devices.
• Communicate with customers and management to obtain approvals and updates.
