Job summary

The role requires six years of tractor-trailer maintenance experience, a high school diploma, and preferred certifications in refrigeration and CDL with air brake knowledge.

Qualifications

• 6 years practical tractor trailer maintenance experience required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational/technical certification preferred.
• Specialized training in refrigeration components overhaul required; ASE and 608/609 certifications preferred.
• Proficiency with trade tools and ability to read complex schematics.
• CDL license and air brake knowledge preferred; basic MS Office skills required.
• Must comply with DOT, OSHA and Penske safety policies; strong attendance record.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, overhaul, adjust, and repair refrigeration units on commercial trucks and trailers.
• Test lines and components using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic equipment.
• Read complex refrigeration system schematics; identify warrantable repairs.
• Road test vehicles to verify repair quality and safe operation.
• Maintain clean, safe work areas and comply with safety policies.
• Provide support for preventative maintenance and tractor-trailer upkeep as needed.
• Inspect dimensions and clearances to meet factory specifications.
• Perform tasks with minimal supervision and timely execution.
