Job summary

Kooner Fleet Management Solutions is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic/Technician in Illinois. You’ll perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on Class 6-8 trucks with a company service truck, tools, and strong team support.

Qualifications

• 3+ years hands-on diesel tech experience on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers.
• DOT inspection and air brake repair experience.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• Own hand tools; company provides rest and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site preventative maintenance and DOT inspections on Class 6-8 trucks/trailers in mobile field environment.
• Handle emergency road service calls with urgency.
• Respond to dispatch requests for scheduled and unscheduled service/maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and air systems.
• Use diagnostic tools, handheld computers and precision instruments to identify issues.
• Use hand tools, power tools and welding equipment to complete repairs.
• Road test vehicles to ensure top-quality standards.
• Meet or beat industry-standard repair times.
• Coordinate with trusted vendors to source parts and keep operations moving.
• Own a company-issued service truck and perform (pre/post-trip) inspections and safety checks.
• Collaborate as a team to support one another.
