We are hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light and follow‑up repairs, diagnostics, and other duties for light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. The Technician will work independently, manage parts inventory, document repairs, and comply with safety and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow‑up repairs on light, medium, and heavy‑duty vehicles.
- Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment (electrical, brake, cooling, starters/alternators, fan clutches, engine electronics, diesel steering systems, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, etc.).
- Diagnose, adjust, and repair truck equipment using test instruments and road tests.
- Inspect, test, and diagnose defective equipment; use handheld computers, pressure gauges, and other instruments.
- Manage parts inventory, reconcile inventory items, and maintain company‑issued service truck.
- Conduct safety checks, pre‑/post‑trip inspections, and maintain service vehicle condition.
- Provide excellent customer service, assess client needs, and resolve issues.
- Prioritize tasks and manage daily schedule independently.
- Use hand tools, precision instruments, diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts, and jacks.
- Document work on Repair Orders using iOS device and TRAIT application.
- Accurately complete DOT and other required forms promptly.
- Obtain parts from approved vendors and communicate with management for approvals.
- Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT).
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED with at least 3 years of experience in a related field (or a higher degree with 5 years of related experience).
- Must possess a set of hand tools necessary for the duties.
- Must obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
- Must pass DOT‑regulated pre‑employment background screening and DOT physical.
- Must have at least 21 years of age and a valid driver’s license; hold a valid State Driver Qualification File.
- Valid DOT medical card with more than 4 months remaining can be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical; otherwise a DOT physical is required.

Compensation
Hourly pay rate: $26.73 – $40.10 per hour, varying by location and qualifications.
