Job summary

Salem Leasing is seeking a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to repair trucks, trailers and other vehicles across our fleet. This role emphasizes hands-on diagnostics, brakes, transmissions and routine maintenance in a fast-paced shop environment.

You will work a weekend, 12-hour shift schedule, following DOT/OSHA guidelines and collaborating with drivers and supervisors to document repairs. Prior medium/heavy diesel experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• CDL‑B license preferred.
• Minimum five years' medium/heavy diesel maintenance experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions.
• Repair, reline, replace & adjust brakes.
• Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors.
• Follow checklists to ensure important parts are examined.
• Plan work procedures using charts, manuals & experience.
• Communicate with driver to obtain vehicle problem descriptions.
• Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services.
• Repair manual & automatic transmissions.
• Replace & adjust headlights.
• Comply with safety, DOT & OSHA guidelines.
• Adhere to company rules & regulations.
• Ensure cleanliness of shop & surrounding areas.

• Must have own hand tools

• Must be able to work in extreme heat & cold temperatures

• Computer Diagnostic: 1 year (Required)
• Mobile Tech: 1 year (Preferred)
• Diesel Mechanic: 5 years (Required)
