Job summary

Salem Leasing is hiring a Mobile Diesel Mechanic to repair trucks, trailers and other vehicles. You will diagnose issues, perform brakes work, engine and transmission repairs, and conduct preventative maintenance across our fleet in the Southeast.

Use manuals and diagnostics, communicate with drivers, and follow safety guidelines to enhance shop efficiency. CDL-B preferred; five years of diesel maintenance experience is desirable. Excellent pay and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• CDL-B license preferred.
• Minimum five years of medium/heavy diesel maintenance experience preferred.
• Must have own hand tools.
• Good driving record and proven work history.
• Ability to work in extreme heat & cold.

Responsibilities

• Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions.
• Repair, reline, replace & adjust brakes.
• Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors.
• Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined.
• Plan work procedures using charts, manuals & experience.
• Communicate with driver to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems.
• Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services.
• Repair manual & automatic transmissions.
• Replace & adjust headlights.
• Comply with safety, DOT, & OSHA guidelines.
• Adhere to company rules & regulations.
• Ensure cleanliness of shop & surrounding areas.
