Job summary

Salem Leasing is seeking Diesel Mechanics to repair trucks, trailers and other vehicles. Our team values safety, craftsmanship and reliability to keep the fleet moving.

Requirements include 1 year of medium/heavy diesel maintenance, own hand tools, basic computer skills and a good driving record. CDL license is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year recent medium/heavy diesel maintenance experience.
• Must have own hand tools.
• Basic computer skills.
• CDL license preferred.
• Good driving record & proven work history.
• Must be able to work in extreme heat & cold temperatures.
• Diagnostic experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions.
• Repair, reline, replace & adjust brakes.
• Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors.
• Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined & other potentially troublesome areas.
• Plan work procedures using charts, technical manuals & experience.
• Communicate with driver to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems.
• Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services.
• Repair manual & automatic transmissions.
• Replace & adjust headlights.
• Comply with all safety, DOT & OSHA guidelines.
• Adhere to company rules & regulations.
• Ensure cleanliness of shop & surrounding areas.
