Job summary

Salem Leasing is hiring CDL Diesel Mechanics to repair trucks, trailers, and other vehicles. With over 55 years of experience and 40 full-service shop locations, we rely on our shop and fleet maintenance technicians to keep us moving.

Responsibilities include examining vehicles, repairing brakes, transmission work, and routine maintenance while following safety, DOT and OSHA guidelines. Benefits include uniforms, safety footwear, training, and a sign-on bonus.

Qualifications

• Must have own hand tools.
• Basic computer skills expected.
• CDL license preferred and a good driving record are advantages.
• Minimum 1 year recent medium/heavy diesel maintenance experience.

Responsibilities

• Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions.
• Repair, reline, replace & adjust brakes.
• Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors.
• Follow checklists to ensure important parts are examined.
• Plan work procedures using charts, manuals & experience.
• Communicate with driver to obtain problem descriptions.
• Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services.
• Repair manual & automatic transmissions.
• Replace & adjust headlights.
• Comply with safety, DOT & OSHA guidelines.
• Adhere to company rules & regulations.
• Ensure cleanliness of shop & surroundings.
