Job summary

Salem Leasing is seeking Diesel Mechanics to repair trucks, trailers, and other vehicles across our shop network. Our 55+ years of transportation excellence underline a commitment to people who keep our fleet moving. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 1 year of diesel maintenance experience, and must provide their own hand tools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year recent medium/heavy diesel maintenance experience.
• Must have own hand tools.
• CDL license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Examine vehicles to determine extent of damage or malfunctions.
• Repair, reline, replace & adjust brakes.
• Review work orders and discuss work with supervisors.
• Follow checklists to ensure all important parts are examined & other potentially troublesome areas.
• Plan work procedures using charts, technical manuals & experience.
• Communicate with driver to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems.
• Perform routine and scheduled maintenance services.
• Repair manual & automatic transmissions.
• Replace & adjust headlights.
• Comply with all safety, DOT & OSHA guidelines.
• Adhere to company rules & regulations.
• Ensure cleanliness of shop & surrounding areas.
