Job description

Step into a day that starts with diagnostics and ends with gear ready for the next jobYou roll into the shop, scan the board, and open Equipment360. A fleet truck needs a PM1, a skid steer threw a code overnight, and a field call just came in from a foreman reporting a blown hydraulic hose on an excavator. You grab your hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic software—Caterpillar ET, Snap-On, OEM applications, plus your multimeter—and get to work.By mid-morning, you’ve completed the inspection checklist (PM1–PM5 as needed), updated work orders with parts usage and labor time, and swapped an alternator. After lunch, you’re in the yard lifting with a crane to safely access a pump, then on the road for a field repair. You follow Lockout/Tagout, hot work, confined space, and OSHA protocols at every step. Before clocking out, you stage parts for tomorrow and confirm warranty details with a vendor. What you’ll tackleDiagnose and repair trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment systems: brakes, hydraulic hoses, clutches, AC, alternators, and water pumps.Perform preventive maintenance services (PM1–PM5) and thorough inspections; document findings and actions in accurate work orders.Use Caterpillar ET, Snap-On, OEM software, and multimeters to troubleshoot electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical issues.Service loaders, skid steers, excavators, manlifts, and fleet trucks to keep operations moving.Troubleshoot hydraulic pumps, cylinders, and flow components to restore performance.Install GPS units, lighting, and other electrical components per specifications.Operate forklifts, cranes, and heavy equipment safely during maintenance.Respond to field service calls and coordinate repairs with Foremen, Dispatch, and Operators.Record repair data, parts, and labor time in Equipment360 or designated systems.Order parts, manage returns, and coordinate warranties with vendors.Pitch in on other duties as assigned to support changing business needs.Bring your expertise3–7 years in heavy equipment and fleet repair, or equivalent technical training.Deep knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and diesel engine systems.Hands-on skill with OEM diagnostic tools and multimeters.Ability to read and interpret manuals, schematics, and technical diagrams.Welding and fabrication experience preferred.Safety-first mindset; consistent adherence to established protocols.Comfort working independently and on a team with shifting priorities.Valid driver’s license.Physical realities of the workWork happens in shop and outdoor environments year-round—including extreme heat, cold, rain, and harsh weather. You’ll stand, bend, kneel, and work in confined or awkward positions for extended periods. You’ll regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs., and occasionally up to 100 lbs. with assistance, while handling tools, parts, and equipment. Expect dust, noise, vibration, and exposure to fuels, lubricants, and other shop chemicals.Compensation & benefitsCompetitive medical, dental, and vision coverageVoluntary benefits including life, accident, critical illness, and pet insurance401(k) retirement planQuarterly bonusPaid Time Off (PTO) and paid holidaysEmployee Assistance Program (EAP) and wellness resourcesTuition reimbursement and continuing education supportScholarship program for dependents of eligible employeesCompany events, community engagement opportunities, and quarterly State of the Company meetingsApply with confidenceE-Z Bel Construction, LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
