Job summary

Cox Automotive Fleet Services is hiring a Heavy‑Duty Technician to join our mobile and on-site teams in the Austin area. You will service a range of trucks and equipment, performing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel repairs.

This role requires 3–5 years of heavy equipment repair experience, knowledge of gas and diesel engines, and familiarity with off-road machinery and light crane repair. Travel may be involved as needed.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in heavy equipment repair.
• Extensive knowledge of heavy equipment.
• Off-road equipment experience.
• Light crane repair experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair a variety of trucks and equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems.
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment, off-road equipment, and cranes (light crane work).
• Read diagrams and service manuals and carry out preventative maintenance.
• Identify replacement parts and complete paperwork thoroughly and in a timely fashion.
• Adhere to safety and environmental requirements.

Responsibilities

• will be responsible for maintenance and repair of a variety of trucks and equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems
• ResponsibilitiesMaintain and repair a variety of rental equipment involving mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems
• Read diagrams and schematic drawings and service manuals on equipment
• Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair heavy equipment, Off road equipment, and cranes (light crane work)Repair electrical and mechanical componentsMaintain electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical knowledge via on-going training, industry workshops and technical reading
• Carry out preventative maintenance program for mobile equipment
• Observe competitive activities
• Contribute to company image and reputation
• Manage and maintain assigned tools and equipment
• Maintain and follow driving guidelines for assigned company vehicle
• Identify and request replacement parts to perform repairs
