Job summary

SRM Concrete (Smyrna Ready Mix) is seeking a Field Service Technician to travel to job sites and plants, performing preventive maintenance, inspections, and on-site repairs to keep trucks, mixers, and heavy equipment running.

You will diagnose diesel, hydraulic, and electrical issues, order parts, document repairs, and coordinate with dispatch while prioritizing safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Service Technician or Diesel Mechanic in heavy equipment or construction.
• Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics and electrical systems.
• Proficiency with diagnostic tools and mobile repair equipment.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
• Willingness to travel daily and pass pre-employment screenings.

Responsibilities

• Travel to job sites and plant locations to perform maintenance and repairs on diesel vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues in the field.
• Rebuild or repair major diesel components on-site when needed.
• Coordinate service calls with dispatch and operations to minimize downtime.
• Document all maintenance work accurately and keep tools and parts organized.
• Adhere to safety policies and stay current on diesel technology.
• Communicate effectively with team members and customers.
