Job summary

SRM Concrete is seeking a Road Service Technician to travel to job sites and plant locations for routine maintenance, inspections and emergency repairs on diesel-powered fleet and equipment.

You’ll diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in the field, rebuild major engine components on-site when needed, and maintain a well-stocked service vehicle. Valid CDL is preferred; strong customer service and safety focus required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational certification in diesel engine repair is a plus.
• Proven experience as a Service Technician or Diesel Mechanic in concrete, construction, or heavy equipment.
• Ability to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in the field.

Responsibilities

• Travel to job sites and plant locations to perform routine maintenance, inspections, and emergency repairs on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in the field using advanced diagnostic tools.
• Rebuild, replace, or repair major components of diesel engines on-site as needed.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch, operations, and plant teams to coordinate service calls and minimize downtime.
• Maintain a well-organized service vehicle stocked with tools, parts, and safety equipment.
• Ensure safety policies and procedures are followed while working independently at remote locations.
• Accurately document all maintenance and repair work performed in the field.
• Stay current on diesel engine technology, repair techniques, and industry best practices.
