Rush Enterprises Inc. is seeking a Mobile Mechanic to maintain client fleets and service trucks at customer sites in Jacksonville, FL.

You will perform cleaning, inspections, basic maintenance, part removal and reconditioning, and use manuals to install with proper guidance; all work must be accurately reported. Responsibilities include diagnosing with diagnostic equipment, managing service-truck inventory, coordinating with the Service Manager, and staying available for after-hours calls.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2 years' experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Have a current and valid CDL and Medical card as required by the FMVSS.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability is a must.
• Must possess a current and valid driver license with a driving record that meets insurability guidelines set forth by the company’s insurance carrier.

Responsabilidades

• Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including fueling and inspections.
• Manage inventory control on the service truck and for keeping the vehicle properly stocked.
• Report to the Service Manager and will be assigned duties daily.
• Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and be available for an open work schedule.
• Maintain and inventory the supplied tools for the work required in maintaining diesel engine trucks and associated equipment.
• Read job order and observe/listen to vehicle in operation to determine malfunction and plan work procedures.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to determine malfunction and perform correct repair procedure.
• Has knowledge of diagnosis, removal and replacement of injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, etc.
• Perform all necessary diagnostic and documentation functions on the company computer system.
• Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and safety devices on trucks, and make adjustments.
• Lubricate moving parts and drive repaired vehicle to verify conformance to specifications.
• Perform preventative maintenance work as requested.
• Document and submit necessary paperwork or enter into the mobile service program as work performed.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding the work and foster positive customer relations.
• Advise customer/service writer of any repairs or services for the near term.
• Participate in training and apply it on the job.
