Job summary

Westmoreland Community Action in New York seeks multiple full-time Crisis Worker 1s to defuse crisis situations, provide stabilization and support, and back up Crisis Worker 2s. You will offer 24/7 mobile services across three shifts and coordinate with county services to assist distressed residents.

The role includes crisis intervention, psycho-educational coaching, and referrals, with benefits including dental, vision, disability cover, and PTO.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Valid driver's license and $15,000/$30,000 bodily liability insurance required.
  • Ability to assist crisis workers in crisis situations.
  • Willingness to work various shifts.
  • Must obtain background checks and sex offender registry clearances.
  • Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse training certificate required or obtainable.
  • Direct Crisis Intervention experience preferred.
  • Proficiency with computer software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 24/7 mobile crisis services across three shifts.
  • Deliver crisis intervention, psycho-educational coaching, resources and referrals.
  • Collaborate with Westmoreland County Behavioral Health and other providers.
