Job summary

Westmoreland Community Action (WCA) seeks several full-time Crisis Worker 2s to provide telephone crisis intervention and mobile crisis services to distressed Westmoreland County residents.

As a Crisis Worker 2 you will use counseling skills to intervene, provide psycho-educational coaching, resources, referrals and aftercare. Travel via agency vehicle to respond to acute calls and ensure 24/7 call center coverage across shifts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in sociology or related field; or high school diploma with 12 sociology-semester credits, including one year of mental health direct care experience or six years of mental health crisis intervention experience.
• Direct crisis intervention experience with the ability to assess and respond to crisis situations; knowledge of counseling skills.
• Proficiency with computer software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention services including psycho-educational coaching, resource information, referrals and aftercare.
• Maintain 24/7 call center presence through three different shifts.
• Travel using agency vehicle to respond to acute and emergency calls where such cases warrant.
