Job summary

Association For Individual Development (AID) is seeking a Crisis Care Counselor-Mobile Recovery Support Specialist to operate within Kendall and Southern Kane County. The role leverages lived experience to support clients, provide crisis intervention, and connect individuals to recovery services.

The position requires evening and overnight shifts, driving to community sites, and documenting interactions per program rules.

Qualifications

• Must be in recovery from mental health illness or co-occurring substance use disorder.
• Experience in mental health field preferred.
• CRSS certification preferred or obtained within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention, de-escalation, emotional support, and suicide risk assessment.
• Perform mobile crisis response and coordinate with 988, police, and community partners.
• Maintain documentation for crisis services and billing within required timeframes.
