Job summary

Kenneth Young Center in Mount Prospect, IL seeks a Mobile Crisis Response Counselor to provide on-site and community-based behavioral health crisis support, de-escalation, assessments, and safety planning. The role involves crisis calls via the 988 line and KYC, with primary coverage in Schaumburg and Elk Grove Townships, including field visits and linkage to ongoing care.

Applicants should have a Bachelor's in social work/psychology and 2–3 years' relevant experience, plus a valid IL driver’s

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or closely related discipline.
• Preferred 2-3 years experience working with individuals recovering from serious mental illness.
• Must have valid IL driver's license and access to a vehicle.
• Office setting; roughly two thirds of time spent in the community driving to sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis screening, assessment, and support in-person or by phone.
• Develop safety plans and coordinate with supervisor on calls that may require hospitalization or EMS.
• Provide short-term case management and linkage to care/resources.
• Complete clinical documentation and service reporting timely and accurately.
• Participate in supervision, meetings, and cross-team collaboration.
