Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a Mobile Crisis Peer Specialist to respond as part of the Mobile Crisis Response Team in the community, building rapport and providing crisis intervention and supportive counseling. Assigned duties occur primarily in the community, with travel up to 50% of the time.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of experience with individuals with mental illness, 18+ and ability to pass background checks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and 1 year of experience with individuals with mental illness.
• Must be 18 years or older and able to pass a KBI security check and SRS Child and Adult Abuse Registry check.
• Reliable transportation with auto insurance required; data entry and computer work emphasized.

Responsibilities

• Respond as part of the Mobile Crisis Response (MCR) Team in the community to establish rapport and provide crisis intervention and supportive counseling.
• Engage individuals in recovery orientation and connect to resources; work primarily in the community.
• Travel up to 50% as needed to support crisis response efforts; maintain flexibility and dependability in schedule.
