Job summary

Behavioral Health Network, Inc. is seeking an MCI Counselor to join our Mobile Crisis Intervention team in Western Massachusetts.

You will respond to crisis hotline calls, provide trauma-informed de-escalation, and coordinate with clinicians and community partners to connect individuals to needed services. The role requires a Bachelor's degree, strong communication skills, and the ability to work in a high-volume crisis environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Knowledge of mental health and crisis response.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Reliable vehicle and driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Manage incoming crisis hotline calls following MCI program standards.
• Provide crisis de-escalation and emotional support while gathering essential information.
• Complete timely triage, prioritize mobile crisis assessments, and assign staff per guidelines.
• Support individuals through stabilization by facilitating access to services and referrals.
• Collaborate with MCI clinicians, BHN teams, healthcare providers, emergency-services partners, and community organizations to promote coordinated care.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant crisis-call, referral, service, and case-coordination documentation.
• Track follow-up needs and address barriers to accessing behavioral health and community resources.
• Maintain direct-service productivity while managing multiple calls and coordination tasks.
• Communicate clearly with individuals in crisis, families, staff, and external providers while protecting confidentiality.
• Participate in staff meetings, required training, and quality-assurance activities.
