Job summary

Behavioral Health Network (BHN) seeks an MCI Clinician to join our Mobile Crisis Intervention and Community Behavioral Health Center team in Western Massachusetts. You will provide in-person crisis assessment, intervention, stabilization, and post-stabilization services to individuals seeking help, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to determine the safest level of care.

Requirements include a Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field and relevant crisis experience;

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or closely related field.
• Two years of behavioral health crisis experience preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic and risk-evaluation skills.
• Ability to apply medical-necessity criteria with sound clinical judgment.
• Excellent active-listening and written communication skills.
• Ability to work calmly under pressure with high-acuity cases.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person crisis assessment, intervention, stabilization, and post-stabilization services at the CBHC.
• Evaluate walk-ins, police drop-offs, or telehealth cases; perform risk assessments.
• Collaborate with psychiatry, leadership, peers, and recovery coaches to plan care.
• Use evidence-based tools to complete assessments and determine level of care.
• Identify community-based options that meet medical necessity and reduce hospitalizations.
• Explain findings and follow-up plans clearly to individuals and supports.
• Provide clinical consultation and assist with training of new clinicians and interns.
• Complete intakes, notes, and assessments within timelines and regulatory requirements.
• Integrate mental health, substance-use, resiliency and recovery principles in service delivery.
