Job description

CommuniCare Health Services is currently recruiting for a Mobile Business Office Manager to cover multiple facilities in Ohio. The Mobile Business Office Manager will be based in the CommuniCare facility closest to their location and will travel as needed, including overnight, to support Business Office functions at individual facilities during vacancies or heavy workloads. We seek a healthcare business professional with extensive Business Office Management or Mobile Business Office Management experience.

PURPOSE/BELIEF STATEMENT:

The Business Office Manager (BOM) is responsible for business office policies and procedures and supervises the Assistant BOM. The BOM must communicate effectively with the Executive Director, Regional Team, Business Office Staff, and external clients such as families, attorneys, and outside agencies.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Complete weekly BOM Admission Checklist and present it at morning stand-up to reduce exceptions.
  2. Verify and validate midnight census testing daily.
  3. Reference Policy Midnight Census.
  4. Complete admission procedures in the absence of the Admissions Coordinator.
  5. Conduct weekly Medicaid pending/collection blitz meetings with facility staff.
  6. Reference Policies Collection Blitz and Medicaid Pending Log and Meetings.
  7. Perform root cause analysis on accounts contributing to bad debt and advise the Executive Director on issues and solutions.
  8. Complete insurance forms as requested.
  9. Attend Utilization Review (UR) and/or PPS meetings as necessary.
  10. Supervise, organize, evaluate, and monitor all business office support staff.
  11. Meet with residents/responsible parties upon admission and discharge to discuss financial obligations.
  12. Coordinate tasks for timely and accurate billing and collection.
  13. Participate in scheduled training, education, and orientation programs to maintain quality of care.
  14. Maintain compliance with departmental, center, and home office policies, quality improvement programs, and safety standards.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • 3-5 years’ experience in the business office of a Long Term Care facility.
  • College degree in Business Administration, Accounting/Finance, or related field.
  • Prior supervisory experience and management training.
  • Thorough understanding of Medicare, Medicaid, Private Insurance, Managed Care, costing, personnel management, accounts receivable/collections, resident funds, accounts payable, general ledger, and information systems.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
  • Effective tactful communication with team members, staff, residents, families, visitors, government agencies, and the public.
  • Willingness to seek new methods and principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the region.
