Job summary

ABM is seeking a Mobile Building Engineer to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair building systems across multiple facilities within a territory. The role covers HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and BAS, with a focus on safe, efficient operations and energy management.

You will travel between properties for inspections, perform preventative maintenance, respond to service requests and emergencies, and maintain thorough records.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical/vocational HVAC, electrical or mechanical training preferred.
• 3+ years of commercial building maintenance or engineering experience.
• Experience with multiple sites or mobile engineering roles preferred.
• Knowledge of BAS, CMMS, and facility systems reading blueprints/diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Travel between assigned properties to perform routine inspections and maintenance.
• Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC equipment and related systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance on electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and life safety systems.
• Respond promptly to service requests and emergency maintenance situations.
• Inspect buildings for operational deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and work orders.
• Assist with vendor coordination and oversight of contracted services.
• Perform minor carpentry, painting, and general building repairs as needed.
• Ensure compliance with safety programs, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
• Support energy management initiatives and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies.
• Participate in an on‑call rotation and respond to after‑hours emergencies when required.
• Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and replacement parts.
