Job summary

Grant County seeks a Community Crisis Responder to provide mobile, community-based behavioral health crisis intervention in collaboration with law enforcement. The role conducts on-scene crisis assessments, stabilizes safety concerns, and refers individuals to reduce arrests or hospitals.

Requires a Master’s degree in social or behavioral sciences and two years’ direct experience with emotional or behavioral disorders; must be eligible for WA licensure as Mental Health Professional.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social or behavioral sciences or closely related field.
• Two years of related experience with emotional or behavioral disorders.
• Experience conducting clinical assessments, including risk, crisis, and diagnostic evaluations.
• Experience responding to aggressive or escalated behaviors using least-restrictive interventions.

Responsibilities

• On-scene crisis assessments in collaboration with law enforcement.
• Provide brief therapeutic interventions using trauma-informed approaches.
• Coordinate referrals to divert from arrest or unnecessary hospitalization.
• Develop crisis plans with individuals and natural supports.
• Maintain records meeting WA administrative codes and agency standards.
