Job summary

Amazon's AWS Event Technology Team is hiring a Software Development Engineer to advance AI-driven event experiences for marketers and attendees worldwide. You will build and optimize the AWS Events Mobile App, collaborating with global stakeholders across product and design.

As an SDE II, you will own end-to-end delivery across frontend and serverless backend, define metrics, and mentor interns while ensuring reliability at scale during major events like re:Invent.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non‑internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
• 1+ years of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
• Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate a multi‑agent conversational AI system powered by Amazon Bedrock that serves 500,000+ attendees across 45+ AWS events annually.
• Own end‑to‑end feature delivery across the full stack ‑ React Native mobile frontend, serverless backend services (Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB), and LLM orchestration layer.
• Define and instrument operational metrics to drive continuous model and system improvements, and ensure high availability during peak event periods.
• Mentor junior engineers and interns, raise the engineering bar through code reviews and documentation.
