Job summary

MWResource, Inc. seeks a Market Applications Engineer to support the MMS applications portfolio, including SCED, DAM, RUC, and CRR.

The role covers design, development, testing, validation and implementation of MMS modifications and enhancements in a hybrid environment. The candidate will be part of a 24/7 on-call team, perform MMS model load testing, coordinate with QSEs/LSEs/REs, and ensure system integrity through site failovers and DR drills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or CS (Required).
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Or a combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required.
• Requires minimum 5 years job related work experience in excess of degree requirements.

Responsibilities

• Member of the 24/7 Market Applications Engineering support on call team and supports, troubleshoot market applications and system on call issues.
• Assist in proactive enhancements, improvements and issue remediation.
• Coordinate application set up and testing with QSEs, LSEs, REs as appropriate.
• Perform MMS model load testing and update model data in real-time per procedures.
• Design and test MMS Interfaces and Web & Client/Server changes.
• Verify and support MMS applications during site failovers, upgrades and patching.
• Support Disaster Recovery Drills and business continuity procedures.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair MMS applications and interfaces, escalates as appropriate.
• Provide on the job training or oversee work of other engineers/analysts.
• Act as consultant and SME in projects affecting MMS environments.
• Represent the Market Applications Engineering Team at meetings.
• Work with DBAs and infrastructure teams on MMS issues.
• Test Non-Functional requirements and coordinate with DB/infrastructure teams.
• Foster relationships with other internal departments.
• Lend expertise to guide projects and teammates.
• Demonstrate expertise with power system software, spreadsheets, and databases.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field
