Job summary

Mercy Health’s Willard Hospital is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician I to perform routine tests on blood, tissues and other specimens with a focus on accuracy and patient safety. You will operate clinical lab equipment, follow standard procedures and support quality control to ensure reliable results.

Key requirements include relevant education (MLT or AS in Medical Lab Technology), certification (CBET/ASCP preferred), and up to two years of lab experience.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science in Medical Lab Technology or equivalent.
• 60 semester hours including chemistry and biology; completed MLT program.
• 50-week U.S. military medical laboratory training within past ten years.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine analytical tests on biological specimens.
• Assess specimen acceptability via visual inspection and result review.
• Identify factors affecting measurements and take corrective actions per protocols.
• Perform quality control and ensure ranges before reporting results.
• Maintain safe, efficient work area; monitor equipment and temperatures.
