Job summary

HSHS Medical Group in Springfield, IL, seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/MT) in Microbiology to perform a range of tests on patient samples using microscopes, instruments, and computers. Full-time position, 40 hours per week, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, Monday–Friday with every other weekend.

Requires Bachelor's degree in biological sciences with NAACLS MLS/MT or ASCP qualifications; certification must be obtained within 180 days. Experience in accredited labs preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biological sciences with NAACLS MLS/MT or ASCP certification, or BS plus 2 years lab experience in an accredited lab.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tests on patient samples (blood, body fluids, cells, tissue) using microscopes and instrumentation.
• Provide data to physicians for diagnosis and treatment.

Education

Bachelor's degree in biological science with NAACLS MLS/MT or ASCP certification OR BS with 2 years lab experience in accredited lab
