Job summary

HSHS Medical Group is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS/MLT) in Microbiology to perform a range of tests on patient samples using advanced instrumentation and computers. Responsibilities include producing accurate data for physicians to aid diagnosis and treatment, with rigorous QC and documentation.

The position is full-time (40 hrs/wk) at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, with a 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM shift and alternating weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biological science, chemistry and mathematics.
• NAACLS-accredited MLS/MT program completed.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of microbiology tests on patient samples.
• Operate biosafety and laboratory instrumentation.
• Provide accurate data to physicians for diagnosis and treatment.
• Maintain quality control and documentation per regulations.
