Job summary

Phoenix Children’s Core laboratory is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist II for the day-to-night expansion on a 0.9 FTE night shift (1700-0530). The role includes chemistry, urinalysis, hematology, and coagulation work with opportunities to troubleshoot QC and abnormal manual differential.

Candidates with experience in Abbott Alinity and Sysmex systems are a plus. This is a full-time position with rotating shifts and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• MLS II with ability to perform standard and complex lab tests.
• Experience with chemistry QC troubleshooting and abnormal manual WBC differential preferred.
• Familiarity with Abbott Alinity and Sysmex systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare clear, accurate reports of test results for patient treatment decisions.
• Participate in development or evaluation of new procedures and quality initiatives.
• Maintain professional competency by staying current with literature and new developments in medical technology.
• Perform routine and specialized patient testing and quality control testing.
• Troubleshoot instrument malfunctions and ensure safe, proper operations.
• Assist peers with workload and share in miscellaneous duties.
