Job summary

Phoenix Children’s in Gilbert, AZ is opening a new laboratory location and is recruiting Medical Laboratory Scientists to join the new lab team. This posting is for a 0.9 FTE night shift, hourly with a rotating weekends schedule.

The MLS II performs standard, complex and specialized tests, ensures data validity, and participates in quality control and new procedures. A CLS program graduate with ASCP certification and clinical lab experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Clinical Laboratory Science program from an accredited institution.
• Current nationally recognized certification (ASCP or equivalent). Required
• Clinical laboratory experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepares clear, technically sound reports of test results for patient treatment decisions.
• Performs full range of chemical, microbiologic, hematologic, and immunohematologic tests as related to job function.
• Participates in evaluation/development of new procedures, instrumentation, and quality initiatives.
• Maintains quality control and troubleshoots instruments to ensure proper operation.
• Assists peers with work assignments and performs miscellaneous duties as requested.
