Job summary

Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist II to evaluate and interpret results, perform QC, and assist in training staff. The MLS II will work under general guidance, handle specimen handling, and ensure timely, reliable results for patient care in a fast-paced laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; associate degree with 2 years related experience may substitute.
• Successful completion of an approved clinical laboratory training internship.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, interprets results and analyzes blood and body fluids using automated and manual methods.
• Verifies results and quality control data for accuracy and reliability.
• Maintains instrument performance standards and troubleshooting procedures.
• Communicates critical results to the patient caregiver and supports shift change handoff.
• Participates in training of new team members and students.
• Maintains compliance with hospital policies and safety procedures.
