Job summary

Orlando Health, Inc. seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist II to perform and supervise complex testing of blood and body fluids in a fast-paced hospital laboratory in Orlando, FL.

You will ensure accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance while contributing to patient care. The MLS II role includes evaluating specimens, performing quality control, troubleshooting instruments, and communicating critical results to clinicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in medical technology or related field required.
• Clinical laboratory internship completed.
• One year of related laboratory experience preferred.
• Maintains Florida Medical Technologist license and relevant certification (ASCP/AAB/AMT) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates specimens for quality and preanalytical errors.
• Verifies results and quality control data for accuracy.
• Performs quality control, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Communicates critical results to patient care team.
• Assists with inventory management and training of new staff and students.
• Maintains compliance with hospital policies and safety standards.
