Job summary

ST JOHNS HEALTH seeks a skilled medical laboratory scientist to perform routine to complex testing with strict QC/QA adherence. You will troubleshoot and ensure specimen integrity while supporting nursing, physicians, and patients with accurate results.

Qualifications include ASCP MLS cm or AMT MT within 1 year and a BS in MLS or related field; 2+ years in a lab is preferred. This is an on-site position at the St. John’s Health campus with a focus on safety and process improvement.

Qualifications

• ASCP MLS cm or AMT MT certification required within 1 year of hire.
• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years laboratory experience preferred.
• On-site work at St. John’s Health campus required.

Responsibilities

• Perform clinical laboratory testing in a timely, accurate manner per regulatory rules.
• Maintain QC/QA and follow preventive maintenance per procedures.
• Communicate results and assist clinical staff with abnormal findings.
• Participate in proficiency testing and safety practices.
