Job summary

St. Charles Health System is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) to perform, interpret and report clinical laboratory testing across diverse specimen types.

The role requires a Bachelor's, Master's or Doctoral degree in a laboratory science and current MLS certification, with potential relocation assistance for eligible candidates. The position emphasizes quality, safety, and collaboration with physicians and the laboratory team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor, Master or Doctoral degree in a chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science from an accredited college or university.
• Current national certification or licensure at MLS/Technologist level by ASCP, AMT, AAB, HEW or California DHS.
• Eligible to obtain required certification or licensure within eight weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs laboratory analysis of specimens per policies and quality standards.
• Documents results in the Laboratory Information System.
• Reviews and reports results, ensures specimen adequacy, and maintains instrument calibration and maintenance.
• Provides safe handling of reagents and specimens and collaborates with clinicians to investigate results.
